Podfic beta?

Anybody want to beta a House podfic for me? Nothing intensive; I'm basically just looking for someone who has 40 minutes to listen through and confirm that I didn't accidentally chop out half a sentence in the editing process or something.

First person to reply gets the download link!

If you can wait till tonight, I can do it! I'll be at work till about 6 pm central, but can listen as soon as I get home and give feedback.

I totally understand if you need it sooner though, so no worries.

(omg am v. excited you are reading House!fic. I have started reading some since becoming unbelievably obsessed with the show in the last few months)

Am off to download, read through story, and then listen. Should be able to get back to you in an hour or so, y/y?

Okay done! There were no chunks missing at all! Everything was clear and voices were easy to distinguish.

At 12:30 when Wilson says "You're unbelievable!" you totally nailed RSL's delivery. Also, House telling Cameron she was a people person at 20:30 sounded like House through and through. Also, good job on Chase's accent! :D I would fail miserably at that.

There were only a few places where some word orders were mixed slightly or a word was left out. There are 6 that I noticed and wrote down. None of them are noticeable in my opinion, as they do not break the flow of the story, nor do they change the meaning of any dialog or sentences. Had I not had the story in front of me, following along, I most assuredly would not have noticed them at all.

Do you want the times for those?

You're very welcome, I'm glad I could help!

They really do not feel like an interruption at all, so yeah, I think you're good there.

go re-record all of House's lines because Hugh Laurie pitches his vowels farther forward in his mouth than I did on this go-through

Ahahahahaha yes, but I think you got the rhythm well enough. His voice is--well, it's kind of awesome. And that thing he does with his "ch"s...I would be terrified to even begin to attempt to mimic his vocal patterns!

As an aside, it was really interesting to me to go back and watch the pilot after DEVOURING all 5 seasons. The evolution of Hugh Laurie's American English accent is amazing, comparatively. In the pilot, his native speech patterns and accent bleed through occasionally (which I didn't notice on the first viewing), and I kind of want to listen to the whole thing again with my eyes closed just to see where I can pick it all out. He still has his moments in later seasons, but the pilot...whoa! Understandable of course, but I found it fascinating to listen to.

Anyway, I'm glad I could help with the beta! I'm all in that OMG YAY glow of new fannish delights with House, so it was a pleasure, and if it works out again, I'll be glad to offer my services.

I would be happy to do it this morning, if I get it in the next couple of hours (I have to go to work in four hours)!

:( I'm sorry, I am at work already... I will listen to it as soon as I get home and let you know if I catch any flubs, though! Thanks.
